Working to Make a Positive Difference in My Community
Today, it is vital that our school board reflect the diversity of our community and our world.As a mother, a professional, and Latina, I want to serve on the school board to add a diverse perspective.I am committed to educational equity for every child. I will listen to the community and work hard to ensure that every child receives the best educational experience possible.I bring a unique perspective with my diverse background.As an industry professional, I know the importance of being able to adapt and learn quickly in these unprecedented times. My experience and background will make me a valuable member of this team during this period of growth and change for our community.
I know firsthand how hard it can be to feel heard in this district. As a district, we must acknowledge the fact that diversity gaps exist and hold ourselves accountable to closing them. We say that we are diverse, and fair but there is a lack of diversity in every area of this administration. If the governing administration is not diverse, what message are we sending to the community? As a member of the school board, I will work with the community to develop programs that help us address implicit bias and diversity gaps. Not every family has the means or the comfort level to reach out and speak out. It is our responsibility to seek out the unheard voices to effectively meet the needs of every student in this district.
